How to Choose Your Wedding Photographer and Filmmaker

Close-up of the couple's hands and wedding rings

Choosing who will tell the story of your wedding isn't a small decision. It's worth taking a little time and asking the right questions. Here's what makes the real difference, in our experience.

Look beyond the best photos

Anyone can show you ten beautiful images. What matters is consistency: ask to see a full wedding gallery, from start to finish. That's where you'll really see whether the style suits you, across an entire day and not just the highlight reel.

The human connection matters as much as the style

You'll be spending a full day, sometimes more, with this team. Discretion, attentiveness and the ability to blend into the atmosphere without weighing it down matter just as much as technical skill. A call or video chat before booking often tells you more than a website ever could.

Don't overlook sound quality or the contract

For film, sound quality is too often forgotten, even though it makes a huge difference when you actually watch the result. On the practical side, a clear contract covering delivery timelines and backup procedures protects you as much as it protects your provider.

Photo and film: think about coordination

If you're booking a photographer and a filmmaker separately, make sure they're used to working together, or at least that they talk before the day. Good coordination means neither gets in the other's way during the key moments.

Since 2023, Une Histoire de Pixel has had the privilege of accompanying couples and telling their story through photography and film. To get a real sense of our work, take a look at our photo portfolio and our video portfolio. And if you have questions, get in touch.
